![]() I’m only running cards that generate cards and mana because this is a pretty combo-oriented build, but feel free to toss in Rampaging Baloths and Avenger of Zendikar if you’d rather beat face than combo they’ll do good work for you. Extra land drops means more lands entering the battlefield, which means we should probably be running some good Landfall triggers. This deck isn’t 100% about Gitrog’s draw trigger it would behoove us to make use of the additional land drops he grants us. +Squandered Resources/ Rain of Filth: Be very careful with these cards they’ll help you combo off if you’re prepared for it, but if you use them too early, you’ll scuttle your chances of winning. Not only does it offer a discard outlet for your lands (thus making it a card selection engine), but it also provides a way to convert a graveyard full of lands into a win. +Worm Harvest: One of the best cards in the deck. +Volrath’s Dungeon: Your opponents are going to realize immediately how much this card can screw them, so you can count on one of them hitting the self-destruct button as soon as they can. + Raven’s Crime: Your opponents lose cards while you remain card-neutral. + Mindless Automaton: Costs mana to activate, but it allows you to net half a card for each land you toss. Still, it’s worth mentioning because it’s so damn good with Gitrog, your dredgers, and Centaur Vinecrasher. + Bazaar of Baghdad: This is not a budget card by any means in fact, if you cut this card from the list, the cost of the deck drops from ~$1500 to around $800. +Skirge Familiar: It’s very easy to combo out with this thing generating both mana and card selection. That being said, not all discard outlets are equal, and while we can’t really omit the shitty ones (Earsplitting Rats, Trespasser il-Vec) because the effect is so important, there are a few that stand head and shoulders above the rest. Mill your entire library, draw a bunch of cards, andĬombo out. ![]() Plus, if you happen to hit upon your Dakmor Salvage in the process, then you can By using discard outlets, you can sift through a large portion of your deck, fill your graveyard with lands, and sculpt a hand that is 100% gas. + Entomb: 99% of the time, this card is going to get Life from the Loam.Īnytime you discard a land, the Gitrog Monster will replace it with another card. Repeat to draw a bunch of cards and mill yourself as much as you want. ![]() If you have the Gitrog Monster and a discard outlet on the field, you can discard the Salvage to the outlet and dredge it back to your hand, leaving you back where you started except you have two more cards in your graveyard, you gain whatever effect the discard outlet gave you, and you’re up a card if you happened to mill a land. + Dakmor Salvage: One of the most powerful combo pieces in the deck. + Mesmeric Orb: Note that Mesmeric Orb triggers individually for each permanent untapped, which gets around the “one or more land cards” limitation that normally prevents you from drawing multiple cards off of big batches of lands hitting the graveyard. I’m going to try to run down all the ways you can synergize with this card over the course of this post, but I may miss some because the Monster works with everything.
